Mommy and Me

We had some very special visitors this past Friday -- our Mommies!! We loved eating breakfast at school and being able to show off all the smart things we know! We skip counted by 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 9s, and 10s, and recited several of our favorite Shel Silverstein poems. We then showed our mommies all of our favorite lessons and activities.

A Parisian Surprise!

We have been doing a good job tending to our okra and pea sprouts. 

I think we might be able to transfer them in the next week. 

Perhaps we will be able to harvest some vegetables during our summer camp!

Today, we started making the first of many Mother's Day gifts. 

Everyone is working hard to read 100 books and earn their reading trophy. 

They LOVE reading to Baby Caroline.

The best part of our day was a surprise visit from our good friend A.! She came all the way from Paris to say hi! Everyone was so excited to see A., and we hope she will stop by again next time she is in town. 

Four Weeks Left!!

I can't believe the school year is almost over! I really enjoyed bragging about and getting to show off all the kids' work at the Parent-Teacher conferences earlier this week. :)

We started our vegetable garden last Thursday -- we planted squash, peas, and okra. Hopefully these seeds will grow, and we will be able to transfer them to our outdoor garden.

We have been doing LOTS of work lately, learning our parts of speech.

We have loved using the farm (to introduce adjectives). 

So fun!!

Peter Hart's Puppet Show

This morning, we had a wonderful visit from the incredibly talented Peter Hart. 

A shower of confetti completed a perfectly splendid show!

We have been ever so busy preparing for spring!

We have been making art projects,

 planting flowers,

and hunting for eggs.

March at Marlowe

This month, we have had two very special visiting teachers -- Ms. Marlowe and Ms. Mary. 

We have loved having them in our class, teaching us lots of fun things!!

February Fun

The past two weeks have been packed with excitement!

Uncle David, a South African Boerboel puppy, came for a visit.

A bear claw was brought in for show-and-tell.

We learned how to make icing and decorated some delicious cupcakes.

We were visited by TWO very special readers. 

We made a few crafts...

and spent a rainy-day-recess playing tic-tac-toe (with hearts and stars).  

We ended our week by handing out Valentines.
