Love Bugs at Marlowe

Love was in the air this month! Hearts could be found all over our classrooms! The children had fun creating many Valentine crafts and working with different heart-shaped materials (as well as other lessons).
Valentines Day was not our only special day! We had a mommy come by and tell us all about Chinese New Year, and Ms. Mary visited both campuses several times and taught us many fun new songs.
We were even lucky enough to have a visit from a dentist! We were read a book about a child's first trip to the dentist, taught which foods were best for our teeth, and shown the correct way to brush!
Also, in honor of President's Day, the children learned about the founding of our nation, made a windsock flag, and conducted a science experiment with pennies!
Feel free to reproduce our results at home with help from Science Bob.

January at Marlowe

January was off to a chilly start! We kept in theme by learning all about the Arctic and Antarctic.
The children made eskimo and polar bear crafts...
...as well as open-faced penguin sandwiches.
We rolled popcorn "snow" balls...
...and cut out snowflakes. We even made geometric penguins!
We talked about greenhouses being a good option for winter gardening and attempted to grow radishes inside a balloon.
However, the winter chill could not keep us from enjoying the sunnier days.
Inside the classroom, the children received lots of new lessons and enjoyed reviewing favorites.
We were excited to see so many friends at this month's playdate at the Center for Puppetry Arts!
I look forward to seeing you all soon!!
