Ahoy, Me Hearties! We had a wonderful first week of camp! We studied vexillogy, geography, cartography, botany, and zoology. There is quite a bit of math required to successfully sail the seven seas, and every captain needs to be able to keep a log, so we worked reading, writing, and arithmetic as well. We made a bunch of fun crafts, played all sorts of pirate games, and we finished the week with a treasure hunt!
As always, art week was packed with crafts! We read about many famous artists, and the children worked with mixed media. The children also enjoyed using materials that involve color matching and grading as well dimension and shape.
