October at Marlowe

This month's theme was all about plants. We had fun watching a cut stem create roots, viewing a sprouted avocado pit, and growing dozens of tiny corn sprouts from a dried cob.
The day before Halloween, we cut open a pumpkin, removed the seeds, and scraped out the inside.
We washed and dried the seeds and took some home to plant.
Along with our plant exploration, we tried our hands at chemical reactions.
We had so much fun watching a balloon inflate itself after mixing baking soda and vinegar together.
We also enjoyed some quality time with our favorite farmyard friends out in our garden.
The children had fun working in the classroom as well!

Not even the excitement of Halloween could keep these children from working hard. :)
Costumes made dancing extra-fun.
