December at Marlowe

We had so many wonderful opportunities for our families to join us in the classroom this month.
One morning, we enjoyed making an edible snowman with our Secret Chef.
We spent one fabulous afternoon showing our Mommies and Daddies some of our favorite lessons.
The next morning, we invited our Daddies (and Mommies) over for breakfast, songs, and circle time.  The children had a hard time resisting showing off a few more activities before gathering for carols.
We finished off the week with a lazy morning in our pajamas, complete with a Mystery Reader who not only treated us with a special Hanukkah story, but with chocolate as well!
In preparation for all the holiday parties, we practiced our small talk and conversation skills as we waited for our rides during carpool.
I hope you all are having a wonderful winter break, and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year!!

November at Marlowe

Our four- and five-year olds have been hard at work perfecting their handwriting this month. They have been having fun experimenting with cursive and writing letters to their grandparents!
Some of our bigger girls decided to spend one afternoon tackling Asia
(one of our trickier map-making projects).
And, to my surprise, we have several three-year-olds now able to use the Stamp Game independently. They have been having so much fun "putting together" and "taking away" such big numbers.
In preparation for Thanksgiving, we made several fun projects.
We even made a Rice Crispy Turkey!
One of our Secret Chefs helped us make delicious patterns with fruits and vegetables!
We even had a daddy stop by and talk to us all about being a doctor.
The children had so much fun handling the medical instruments and everyone loved being able to dress up and take home scrub caps, masks, and shoe covers.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break, and we look forward to seeing you all next week.

Halloween Countdown

What a fun past few days we have had!!
Last Friday, we walked outside to find ANIMALS on the playground!!!!
This week, in preparation for Halloween, a Secret Chef visited our classroom and helped us make ghosts and spiders out of bananas!
For the big day itself, we all dressed up and spent the day singing, dancing, crafting, and having lots of fun.
Happy Halloween!!!!
