October at Marlowe

We studied all about plants this month. We learned the parts of the flower, watched a bulb sprout, planted some grass and observed its expanding root system, changed celery stalks into different colors, and we dissected both an apple and pumpkin.
We couldn't help but conduct this spooky physics experiment (regarding chemical reactions) as well.
We hosted a Secret Chef and used Halloween magic to turn an Oreo into a spider, and we were visited by a Mystery Reader who is also a former Marlowe Alumna!
Two of our most popular materials this month were definitely our puzzle maps and dressing frames. At one point, I looked over at the stand, and all but two were in use!
Your children have been incredibly busy this year, and I am so excited by their progress. We are looking forward to bragging about them during parent-teacher conferences next week!
