Down on the Farm

Have you ever made your own butter? We have, and the result is quite delicious! The children had so much fun this week working down on the Marlowe Farm. We created several fun crafts, planted vegetable seeds, and some over-eager toddlers even harvested some tomatoes from our vegetable garden.
The children also found some farm-themed activities in the classroom. We matched and labeled items on the farm, learned parts of speech with "The Farm," traced and labeled parts of the plant, laced around farm animals, sewed burlap, wove potholders, stenciled, and drew our ideal farmyard.
We also had TWO opportunities to enjoy Ms. Mary's Music Hour. She introduced the children to a variety of instruments, including a guitar, autoharp, and dulcimer, and the children learned many farm-inspired songs.
Have a wonderful Fourth, and we look forward to seeing you all next week for Astronaut Camp!
