First Weeks of School

I am unbelievably delighted by our incredible group of children this year!
School started on Monday, and by Tuesday, the class was running as smoothly as I would hope it would by October. Our returning students jumped right in as if they had never left, and our new students fell right into the routine.
As I was sorting out the children's work for the week, I was amazed by some of the papers our pre-K students completed.
Ms. Mary stopped by for her famous music hour and brought Mr. Bob along to help introduce a number of instruments to the children. They showed off a flute, piccolo, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and more! We have been learning the lyrics to some rounds, and they helped us sing the various parts and provided a guitar accompaniment.
Our fabulous week was finished with a surprise visit from this month's Secret Chef!
W's mom and big brother helped us create a delicious fruit pizza.
Have a wonderful Labor Day, and don't forget about school pictures next week!

Down on the Farm

We had a grand time this week down on the Marlowe Farm. We danced, sang, shook cream into butter, planted seeds, wove potholders, enjoyed a guitar sing-a-long, and ended the week by taking home a potted plant and a bag full of fabulous crafts.
We look forward to seeing you all at our Open House in two weeks!

Super Safari

Our great adventurers were busy this week preparing for their great safari. We made jungle chains, painted zebras, created safari scenes, named, matched, and labeled exotic animals, and on Friday, everyone was sent home with their own safari hat and binoculars to scout for animals in their own backyard!
We're looking forward to some barnyard fun next week!

A Bug's Life

Marlowe has been abuzz with activity this week as our little entomologists explored the wonderful and amazing world of creepy-crawly BUGS!

We had plenty of time between projects and insect exploration to use many of our fun classroom materials.
By Friday, the children each had an entire Bug Box to take home with them!
Next week's Super Safari camp is bound to be filled with ROARS of laughter and TONS of fun!! :)

Space Camp

Our astronauts-in-training were hard at work this week. We learned the names of all the planets and other objects in space, identified many constellations, launched rockets, conducted a moon phase experiment with a flashlight, and more!

By the end of the week, the children's NASA file was filled to the brim with constellation and moon phase work, a shooting star, a moon book, and lyrics to our space song. Oy Friday, everyone got to take home a telescope, rocket glasses, and pen filled with stardust.
We can't wait to see you all for Bug Week!
